You guys can you believe that it’s 2019! I am so ready to leave behind 2018! The last two years have been so rocky while going through my marriage falling apart to it officially ending and restarting my life.
I’m back stronger than ever and ready to kick some ass. I’m screaming to the universe this is going to be my very best year yet! Get ready.
So if you’re like me, you’ve written the goals, discovered your vibe – you are 150% ready to blow 2019 out of the water.
But, have you thought about what you need to leave behind in 2018?
It’s time to do a soul audit
It’s Soul Audit Time
So, what’s a soul audit? It’s when you look deep look within yourself and see if the activities you are doing are aligning with the woman you want to be.
Go back and look at your 2019 Vibes and Goal Planner (if you don’t have a clue what I’m talking about check out this post ).
What did you say you wanted your vibe to be?
What are your goals?
Who do you need to become to make them a reality?
Really be honest with yourself and think on this. Get out your journal and start writing. I wouldn’t limit it to just this year. Who is the woman you want to become?
Are you in alignment?
Now that you have that done, who or what does not align with that vision?
Look at who you are surrounding yourself with, the activities that you do or don’t do, habits that you have – are any of them stopping you from becoming your best self?
I’m bringing this up not make you feel bad about anything in your life, boo we all got shit we could get rid and do less of (Hi, my name is Verla and I adore wine waaay too much). It’s when we know about it, but keep doing it when we know its no longer serving us.
You can do all the things, read all the books but if you are still doing the same shit that got you stuck you will never get unstuck. You gotta change that mindset.
What are some habits keeping you to leave behind?
Are you drinking too much? Not getting enough sleep? Filing your body with unhealthy foods? Negative self talk?
Write down everything you need to let go.
Leave it behind
Now that you have that list, let’s start making some changes!!
Set a goal each month of one thing you are going to stop doing. It takes 21 days to change a habit. If you tackled one habit a month, that’s 12 habits you could break? How freaking cool is that!
I strugggggle with going to sleep at a decent time. For years I averaged less than 7 hours a night. After getting super sick during the Christmas break for the third year in a row, it was time for a changed. With all the plans I had for the upcoming year I was going to be run down by June.
My goal was to start getting at least 7 hours of sleep a night. So, I started a night time routine which looks like this:
930pm: Put cell phone on do not disturb and flip over. (Flipping the phone over prevents less distractions from notifications.)
930p-10p: Make sure I’m ready for the next day ie. clothes picked, coffee maker set, bag packed, etc.
930-10pm: Journal session to close out my day.
10-1030pm: Quick meditation and then reading a fiction book read for a bit. Boom
1030pm: Verla is ready for nite nite.
As of today 1/10/19, I’m sleeping now an average over 8 hours!
In just 10 days I’m already seeing results.
Changing a habit is totally possible if you do the most important thing – START!! Start today whatever you want to do.
That vision, that dream of the woman you want to be is readily available to be your reality.
